VIVABOTANICA PROJECT RUNWAY---A celebration of sustainable fashion, art, and community in support of the San Antonio Botanical Garden and local fashion and art designers and entrepreneurs.
The Fashion Business Network in partnership with San Antonio Botanical Garden presented "Vivabotanica Project, a sustainable fashion initiative aiming to merge the world of art, fashion, futurism and education with a conscious effort of sustainability and preservation.
Local San Antonio emerging designers registered in an immerse two part workshop led by Amanda Hunter Alacron and Ida De La Rosa, creating a sustainable garment that depicted a personal journey in fashion as well as utilized the flower pounding and hand dyed techniques they learned. The participants then presented their final garment along side other sustainable designers in the garden runway fashion show on Saturday April 26, 2025, to kick off the San Antonio Botanical Garden annual, Vivabotanica community event that is held annually.
These designer garments are now on display as an art exhibition to highlight the initiative aiming to support the sustainable art community and garden preservation mission.
Vivabotanica is a 2025 grant recipient of the City’s Office of Sustainability and is now an official Fiesta event. Concept developers, TABU the Artist and Kaia Dublin, along with the Fashion Business Network, are dedicated to bringing more creative and innovative initiatives to the forefront that seek to raise funds and support the fashion industry and art community of Texas.
